April Newsletter
Winter is our busiest period, so we’ve not had much opportunity to update you on what we’ve been up to. However, as we move into Spring, we’ve put together a Newsletter to share some of the things we think you might be interested in.
There are many people in our community who don’t have somewhere safe to live. Families, young people, the elderly, those with heath issues or who are dealing with personal trauma. The mental image you may have of rough sleepers is often a long way from the truth. A lot of people who don’t have a home end up ‘sofa surfing’, staying with friends, moving from place to place. Constantly worrying about where they’ll stay from week to week. It’s surprisingly easy to get into that situation. Losing your job, a serious health issue, being forced out of your family home due to divorce or abuse. It can happen to anyone.
At Bromley Homeless we don’t think that’s fair. Our aim is to help those in our community who face that situation. To help them find a home and regain their dignity.
We’re a small charity though. We’re reliant on donations and volunteers to operate. Like you we juggle our jobs, families and lives alongside trying to do some good where we can. We’re incredibly grateful to those of you who already support us with donations and by volunteering, and for those who are just curious about what we do and feel inspired to do some good, please consider:
Setting up a regular donation. All you have to do is click here. It doesn’t take much; even as little as £2 a month is a massive help to us. It means we have reliable funding to provide our services to those who often have no-one else to turn to.
Volunteering with us. We’d love to hear from you. Just click here for more details.
Following us. The more people who like, engage with and repost our messages on social media, the easier it is to get our message out. So please follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
Any support you can give means the world to us, and to your community!
