The first thing to do is to register for the Sleep Out where you’ll find a link to create your own fundraising page:

Is there a fundraising target?
We’re holding the Sleep Out to raise as much money as possible for Bromley Homeless, to support the charity’s work.
Whatever you’re able to raise for the charity will help and will be much appreciated, but we encourage each participant to set a fundraising target of £100 (or more if you’d like to!) so that we can support as many of our clients facing homelessness as possible.
Whether you raise £100 or £1,000, you can be sure your money is making a real difference to each person we work with.
How do I create my Just Giving page?
A photo alone can increase donations on your fundraising page by 14%. That’s because people like to know their donation is going to something they care about, i.e. you!
You can also assure your donors that 100% of their donation will go directly to Bromley Homeless’s services and programs. Take time to include why the Sleep Out is important to you. How have you been impacted or seen homelessness and poverty first-hand? How did you hear about Bromley Homeless? What inspired you to get involved? Your story will not only inspire them to donate, but it could also inspire them to get involved themselves.
You can look to our Instagram and Facebook pages for some of our stories that we share, and use those as part of your Just Giving page. Let people know that you are raising money for a charity that will be making a huge difference in the community, especially as the winter nights draw in.
You can download a poster about the work that Bromley Homeless does HERE.
What do I do with my Just Giving page?
Share your fundraising page far and wide! Sharing is caring after all and people won’t know you’re looking to raise sponsorship funds unless you tell them!
Let friends, family and colleagues know that you’re spending a night in the cold raising money for Bromley Homeless. Group chats and Facebook groups are great places to boost your donations.
We host our Sleep Out events in the winter because the weather will be cold and miserable – so people will be more likely to donate when they take into account that it won’t be an easy feat! So do remind people that not only will YOU be sleeping out in freezing temperatures, those who have no other option but to sleep on the streets will be sleeping out in freezing temperatures too.
Keep the FUN in fundraise
What else can you do to encourage people to donate? Shave your head if you raise £100? Go live on Facebook and do a push-up for each pound raised? If you’re taking part with kids, consider traditional bake sales and lemonade stands to raise additional pounds – the old fundraising ideas are sometimes the best.
Do you have a paper sponsorship form I can use?
Yes! Download your paper version of the sponsorship form HERE
Can I have some other ideas?
Of course! Here are some other ways you could raise your sponsorship money:
- You could host a quiz with some friends.
- You could write fundraising letters to get support from local businesses
- You could run a raffle or book sale
- You could create a ‘wear what you want’ at work/school day
- You could organise a show/contest/games night
- You could create a car wash
- You could do face painting
- You could do a car boot sale with items you no longer want
- You could host a tea and coffee morning
- You could do dog walking or a cinema night
- You could try to set a world record attempt
- You could see if your company has a matched donation scheme – where they match any sponsorship money you raise
